We’re happy to announce that ticket sales for the 24th iteration of the Design Indaba Conference are now open!
Each year, the idea of a simple talkshop comes undone on the Conference stage. The Design Indaba Conference 2019 will take place from Wednesday 27 February to Friday 01 March 2019 and will be held in the Opera House of the Artscape Theatre Centre in Cape Town.
The Design Indaba Cape Town Simulcast will be screened as a live feed from the main conference and will take place in the Theatre Venue at the same location.
The 2019 event promises a stellar selection of international speakers whose compelling presentations combine career-changing insights and the most cutting-edge work on the global circuit.
At the same time, we work to see the ideas that take shape on stage find physical form in the public realm – from the Arch for Arch project that honoured Archbishop Desmond Tutu to the renaming of a floor in the iconic Zeitz MOCAA to honour the late Hugh Masekela.

FULL THREE-DAY CONFERENCE TICKET STANDARD RATE:
The standard rate for the full three-day conference is R8 715.
From 01 October 2018 onwards the full standard rate will apply.
DISCOUNTS:
Early Bird Discount = 10% off the price of the full three-day conference
- The Early Bird Discount is limited to the first 200 people to book their tickets and will run until 30 September 2018.
- First-time attendees and previous delegates who have been to the conference once before may take advantage of this special rate.
- With the Early Bird discount, you will only pay R7 845 for your ticket – saving you R870!
Loyalty Discount = 15% off the price of the full three-day conference
- If you have attended the Design Indaba Conference more than twice in the past, you qualify for our Alumni Discount, now known as our Loyalty Discount.
- If you are a past delegate/alumnus, you will be sent a unique code directly to your email addres, which you can use to take advantage of this special offer.
- You will only pay R7 405 for your ticket – saving you R1310!
- If you are a past delegate/alumnus, you will be sent a unique code directly to your email address that you can use to take advantage of this special offer. If you do not receive your Loyalty Code by 31 July 2019, please notify lauren[at]designindaba.com
Academic/Lecturer Discount = 15% off the price of the full three-day conference
- This discount is aimed at making the event more accessible for lecturers and teachers in academic institutions.
- You will only pay R7 405 for your ticket – saving you R1310!
- If you are a past academic/lecturer delegate, you will be sent a unique code directly to your email address so that you can use to take advantage of this special offer.

Cape Town Simulcast
Simulcast tickets are currently only open to previous Simulcast delegates (past attendees both student and other) who have attended the event in the last two years. Simulcast delegates from 2017 and 2018 will be sent a direct email containing a booking barcode that is unique to their Webtickets profile and which may only be used once.
GIVING BACK:
Since 1995, the Design Indaba has contributed vastly to uplifting the South African design sector through education and projects - and will continue to do so. For the first time in 2019, we’d like to invites delegates to make their own contribution to growing the design industry by way of a voluntary donation towards the not-for-profit Design Indaba Trust, which supports the attendance of students in need. This voluntary donation is entirely at your discretion and is an optional prompt that forms part of your online booking and payment – so there’s nothing extra you’ll need to do!
