Sifiso Shange is a 20-something designer originally from the city of Durban, now based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a self-professed “new age Zulu” man. He creates contemporary sneaker designs and crafted a unique, Zulu-beadwork inspired furniture cabinet called the Love Cabinet.
Shange’s perspective on life allows him to draw from time-honoured African craft and apply it in innovative ways. He is interested in the way that love and interpersonal connection can be expressed through design. He takes inspiration from the concept of a new Africa – a narrative that he works towards through creativity.
