Kohn has connected with artists across the continent and holds a degree in African Studies from Columbia University. Through MOAD, Kohn has had a part in reimagining the role museums play in the African contemporary art and design landscape, focusing on the many possible types of visitor experiences. African popular culture and cities hold his attention and are reflected in his personal curatorial work.
Kohn is one of the curators of Design Indaba's Most Beautiful Object in South Africa (MBOISA) initiative for 2016.
