Wobble-Up is a multi-functional furnishing concept for modern living

Design Academy Eindhoven graduate, Sam Linders specialises in material design, trend development and interior design. Her latest project, Wobble-Up is a multi-functional seating concept made up of foldable floor carpets.

From a distance, Wobble-Up looks like a square section of carpet but one incision turns the tile into a wobbling sitting spot. The idea was inspired by Linders’ fondness for sitting on the floor while watching television.
Each floor tile is fabricated out of mechanically punched plastic that is embroidered with varying jersey yarn patterns for added textural embellishment.
The user can fold the carpet into any 3-dimensional seating shape and secure the shape with velcro, which also can be used to connect the tiles when used as a carpet.
The whole idea is to play with the tiles by using them as impromptu chairs for guests, permanent seating for your home or by arranging the different patterns and colours to create a mosaic-like carpet.
